Our Volunteers Mean So Much To Us!

Sad news this week as we learnt of the loss of one of our loyal Volunteers Roger Knight.

Roger quietly got on with a variety of Volunteer roles here at The National Brewery Centre. He was part of the Robey Group which runs our steam pumping engine; helped out in the garden area and cared for our Bicycle Collection.

Roger's passion was the railways and he loved donning his railwayman's clothes and chatting to our Visitors from the footplate of  the No 9 loco. We are certain that children into adulthood will remember his face as the smiling railwayman, who bought history to life for them and made time to ensure we make special family memories.

He will really be missed and all our thoughts from the team and volunteers are with his family at this time.

The National Brewery Centre prides itself on its inclusive position within the community and their families. Our volunteers are always popping in to help ensure that we keep history alive and to a high spec. We are always grateful for this time and support, and we have really enjoyed growing such a passionate volunteer group.
